App: Safelight: Film Camera & RAW, a camera and photo editor for Android (package com.swiftsofts.safelight)
Publisher: Swift Apps (“we”, “us”)
Contact: [email protected]
The short version
- We don’t collect any data. Safelight has no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party advertising or analytics code.
- Safelight has no INTERNET permission. The app cannot connect to the internet, so it cannot send your photos, edits or anything else to us or anyone else.
- The camera is used only to take photos. Photos are stored on your device, in your photo library (Android MediaStore) and in the app’s own storage.
- Location is optional. It is only used if you turn it on, and you can remove location from the EXIF data of photos you export or share.
- Safelight is rated for everyone. We collect no data from anyone, including children.
1. Who we are
Safelight is published by Swift Apps (the Swift Softs site at swiftsofts.com), which is responsible for this app and this policy. For any question about privacy, email [email protected].
2. What Safelight stores, and where
The information Safelight handles is stored only on your device. It is never sent to us, and we have no server that could receive it. This includes:
- The photos you take, and the photos and DNG files you import
- Your edits, saved as small “recipes” beside each photo, and recipes you save to reuse
- App settings, such as your preferred look, grid and capture options
- Simple on-device counters, if the app shows them, such as photos taken. They are never transmitted
3. What Safelight does not collect
Safelight does not collect, transmit or share:
- Personal information of any kind, including your name, email address or phone number (there is no account or sign-up)
- Your photos, edits, recipes or any other content
- Analytics, usage data, crash reports or advertising identifiers (the app contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDK)
- Your contacts, microphone recordings, files elsewhere on your device or your browsing
Because Safelight has no INTERNET permission, it is technically unable to send data over the network.
4. Camera
Safelight asks for camera permission so it can show the viewfinder and take photos. The camera is used only for photos. Safelight does not record video or audio, and camera frames are processed on your device to show the live look and to develop your photo.
5. Location and EXIF data
Saving location with your photos is optional. It is only used if you turn it on in settings, and Android then asks for your permission. When it is on, the location is written only into the EXIF data of the photo, on your device. Photos also carry ordinary camera EXIF details, such as exposure, ISO, lens and the date and time.
When you export or share a photo, you can remove the location from the EXIF data of that copy. Removing it never alters your original file. Safelight does not read or use your location for anything else.
6. Your photos and edits
Photos you take are saved to your device through Android’s MediaStore, so they appear in your gallery, and Safelight also keeps its own files in app storage (for example imported originals and edit recipes). These are on your device. Once a photo is in your gallery, other apps you have given access to your photos can see it, and cloud services you have set up yourself, such as Google Photos or Android device backup, may copy it under their own policies. Safelight does not control or see that.
Photos are only sent somewhere when you share or export them to another app. Safelight does not edit or delete files it did not create or import.
7. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | To show the viewfinder and take photos. |
| Location (optional, off by default) | Only if you turn on location tagging, to write location into a photo’s EXIF data. |
| Internet | Not requested. Safelight has no INTERNET permission. |
Safelight does not request access to your contacts, microphone, call log or accounts. Photos you import are chosen through Android’s own photo picker.
8. Google Play and billing
Safelight is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information when you download or update the app, under Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive it.
Safelight may use Google Play Billing for optional purchases that we may offer in the future. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not see or store your payment details. Safelight has no ads and no account, and you are never required to pay to take a photo.
9. This website
This website is a static site. It has no cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts and no third-party requests; its fonts are served from the site itself. Like any web server, the host may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for security and reliability. We do not use them to identify visitors.
10. If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply and to improve the app. We keep support emails only as long as needed. Please do not send photos or personal details unless you want us to see them.
11. Retention and deleting your data
We hold none of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete. Your photos and edits stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete photos from within Safelight or your gallery, and uninstalling Safelight removes the app’s private storage. Photos already saved to your gallery are yours and stay there until you remove them.
12. Children
Safelight is rated for everyone and is not directed at children in a way that collects their information. It collects no data from anyone, so no data is collected from children either. There is no account, no advertising and no way to communicate with other people in the app.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data a company holds about you. Because Safelight collects no personal data, we hold nothing to access or delete. If you emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at [email protected].
14. Future changes
If we change how Safelight handles data, for example by adding an optional feature that needs it, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change ships, and the Google Play Data safety section will be updated to match.
